About

Christian Fellowship Baptist Church

Christian Fellowship Baptist Church was co-founded by Pastor Stan Archie, Pastor Maurice Gadson and Pastor Andre Singleton. The church began worship services with their families October 21, 1989 - occupying rental space at the Old Fire station on 39th and Indiana. As time progressed, other family members began attending and many soon became members as well.

By the grace of God and at about 20 members, Christian Fellowship Baptist Church purchased the old Junior League Thrift at 4509 Troost Ave in 1992. The Dedication service was held November 1992 with Grace Baptist Church, Pastor Aaron A. Lavender as guests. The building has been renovated countless times since the initial move to 4509 Troost Ave. After the purchase of several vacant homes on Forest Avenue (rear of building), the parking lot was laid in 2006.

As the years continued in ministry, Dr. Jeff Cook, Rev. Michael Randle, Rev. Roderick Williams, and Rev. Robert Shelton also joined the preaching staff - Rev. Robert Shelton is presently serving as Discipleship Pastor.

All in all, Christian Fellowship partnered with Christ Community Evangelical Free Church (5 locations) as sister fellowship, and Christian Fellowship currently has 200 or so members, all while serving the Urban Community.
