Worship Pastor Spouse:Tish Children: Tomeika, Brandon, Maurice, Demale, Demettra, Joshua, Daiumbre Year you came to CFBC: 1989, my family and I were founding members and part of the original core of people who started CFBC. Something you wish everyone would understand and embrace: My real desire is that people would understand the truth of the Word of God and its absolute trustworthiness for life. Scripture has been the compass in my life for a lot of years, and my confidence in it grows continually. I wouldn't trade its direction for anything else in this world. A favorite ministry memory: The memories I have of being a part of this church from the very beginning are embedded forever in my mind. When I walk through this building and see now the things that are happening . . . the ministries . . . the changed lives . . . seeing children now whose parents were saved as kids years ago at CFBC& Freedom School& kids eating breakfast in the cafeteria& the choir& Men's and Women's ministries& recovery ministries& I am just overwhelmed with gratefulness for what God has done over the years. Favorite Scripture: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. That is my daily concern. Your greatest wish for tomorrow's generation: That they would embrace the truth of the Word of God. There is nothing more important than that. Your greatest desire for our church family: That they would grow in maturity, that broken lives and families would be healed, that people would be continually become committed followers of Christ. That people would find their absolute delight in life in Jesus himself. Favorite movie of all time: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. After I took my youngest daughter to see it, she looked at me right in the eyes while we were driving home and said "I really liked it Daddy when the Lion came back to life again." I was overcome with her simple statement, and had a fresh appreciation of why we have absolute hope and confidence in the Christian life. We talked then the rest of the way home about another King who died but came back to life again& Favorite sport: Football . . Chiefs, of course. Someone who inspires you in your Christian walk: Honestly, I would have to say at the personal and hands-on level it would be the men right here on our own pastoral staff: Stan Archie, Jeff Cook, and Andre Singleton. |
